Reasons for ban not allowing social media and YouTube.
The reason Robert as the chief executive of the record label and “one stop authority” owner of the publishing and master recordings is the most simple reason. Streaming revenue returns of premium original releases of music in single or album form on YouTube does not pay enough to justify licensing music out to that platform while placing the content for sale as it was for sale as a single or album is the best financial choice for any professional recording artist. However due to Apple & Amazon payments paying higher it makes better financial sense in terms of streaming to place all marketing call to actions to those platforms while discouraging ANY original premium music YouTube to maximize revenue from the higher paying platforms especially since YouTube IS the largest streaming site in general.
As far as YouTube we are currently going over a more original concept with a more surgical localized concert promotion tool that can be very effective considering concert tickets ARE a higher mark-up than music streaming revenue allowing a good CPM & ROI done correctly to mention to any fans or live entertainment professionals we are or have been in contact with of current upcoming events.
As far as social media the reason the band is not on social media is again for the most simple reason and that is simply the band does not own those platforms and the lead known as the follower.. The key for any artist is ownership of the lead known as the follower obtaining a email address to remarket music releases or concerts to. On social media platforms no artist owns those followers.
Robert was proven correct when refusing to fully do a Myspace page while the world witnessed the decline of Myspace.
The best business move for any band is promote call to actions to your own website that you own and control email address and or text sign up list that the business owns.
Another important topic to mention is post only reach a small percentage of followers to a page making it useless to post anything with a direct email blast of permission based out in subscribers being a far batter business choice. Another reason there is not a IG or FB that the band relies on simply the fact that a page can be taken die out of nowhere never gave confidence to rely on another major international tours that have to be successful for a verity of reasons with financial failure as not a option.
On a final not social media sites are well known to not give real numbers of viewers or subscribers making even buying advertising reputation that's not so good unfortunately. There is a organization called the CMO Council that has stated on several occasions the results did not add up. The CMO Council stands for chief marketing officer, with the council including chief marketing officers from several Fortune 500 companies.
The bands database that was started in 1998 officially known as the Kalhalla Legion as of 2025 sits at over 82 million opt in subscribers that are considered in sales professionals terms hot leads being customers ready to purchase music or live concert tickets.
