Kalhalla is a Power Pop band based out of Santa Monica, California that is a American Power Pop recording artist on the mini-major record label Kalhalla Global Entertainment that is exclusively distributed worldwide by Sony Music Entertainment & is fully owned & operated by co founder & leader of Kalhalla, Robert Benson.

Kalhalla founded in 1989 originally was first named Metal Death by 13 year old Chicago Blues shredder lead guitar player & vocalist Robert Benson and drummer Sam Bass pioneering at the time a new hyper masculine style of extreme metal music with their first song “Armageddon” featuring fast double bass drum parts being the first band to introduce a new darker, faster & aggressive form of music in the South Texas area being the first band to down tune to C sharp on guitar in a era of E standard tuning with Robert using a fast triple time guitar grinding on the rhythm guitar riffs using speed only used in soloing at the time with Sam in drums playing blast beats on the bands second song created entitled “Depths of Hell”

The 1990's brought in the live concert debut of the band in the summer of 1991 while surprising club convert bookers of their young age and talent and offering the band opening slots for touring bands that were coming through the area. The band had developed a established multi neighborhood level fan following through its early marketing talent of branding the band logo name on the band mates and others drawn by same into jean jackets while using a know practice used for years called “tape trading” of recorded versions of the band rehearsals of songs on the tapes as promotion syndicating copies of the tape. The band established a surprising following to the point that the bands followers were cheering the name Robert repeatedly heckling a guitar player on stage at a talent show on stage at Judson High School despite the fact Benson was not a student at that school.

With the new decade bringing the band pioneering the new aggressive style while Benson was in the area, it also brought his family a military family move to the Seattle area during the beginning of the grunge music reign & revolution after spending the summer in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York with family and also running into and meeting future rap legend Chris “Notorious B.I.G” Wallace at Pitken Ave before his career started off in 1991 before Benson re-branded the bands name due to a belief that the name needed to be more marketable sounding and that current name would limit the band artistically and would sound corny and outdated at some point with the new name changed officially to Kalhalla designed in class at Kilo Junior High School in Auburn, Washington that same year. The decision was marked as Benson's first major business decision as the band's acting manager before finishing off the year of 1991.

Continuing to write songs during this time period for the band Benson went on to attend Federal Way High School were he was for the first time taught investigation skills from Ted Bundy case investigator retired former King County Sheriff Detective Ralph Grunden who was Robert's 10th grade teacher before finally attending Lakes High School with other music pioneers the metal core & noise music core music pioneers the band Botch who use to run in one another in between classes.

1993 Benson was introduced to the “Riot Grrrl” movement while running into other musicians at a music store in South Tacoma Way who had been informed of bullying at concerts as fans and as live performers by males. Already being aware of discrimination against female performers particularly Madonna and Joan Jett, Benson had offered to be a concert roadie for a concert helping the fellow musicians in the multiple bands load their equipment on stage while standing on side of the side of the stage during the concerts as a body guard in case of bullying attempts.

The band released the single “A Thin Line Between Hell & Hate” December 7th, 2018 as the first single off the much delayed upcoming Kalhalla album “Virile” to be released in the 4th quarter of 2025.

Kalhalla is billed worldwide as “The Most Powerful Band In The World” from it's complete ownership of content, business achievements global economic power and permitted by many countries to perform that normally banned western music artist from performing in their country due to corrosive content.

With a new drummer on Drums, Carlos Bernier on Bass guitar and “The Grand Wonder of The World” Robert Benson Lead guitar and vocals are are to begin the Kalhalla -Virile World Tour 2027-2028 to support the Virile album starting in May 2027 leading into the spring of 2028.
