1.) FAQ
We put together this faq's to answer some of your good questions over the years that in our opinion are understandable and most of them should be answered. The majority of the answers will be better answered in interviews over time, however there are some brief and mostly short answers. There are some questions I Kevin have answered and some I have cut and paste here in questions I sent to Robert that can be answered better by him or he only knows a good answer to. Here are some of these common questions with brief answers below.
Kev
1.) Why are you not promoting or have more likes on your Facebook page?
The reason is simple far more simple and will make a lot of sense to mention. Kalhalla does NOT own or run Facebook so that means Facebook is control over all of what goes on that site. Kalhalla does not promote that page, nor publicize it in anyway and only uses it for VIPS, concert ticket promotions in one city and for testing. Lastly bands normally import their emails address list to join them on Facebook and Robert has NOT permitted the importing of the over 1 million U.S. Kalhalla fans email address and the other hundreds of thousands of email addresses totaling over40 million plus internationally.
All marketing traffic is normally directed to the main site and it would be reckless to be hearing from us on some wall post every 5 minutes so we are very good about not over messaging our list. There is experience and good wisdom with the actions on this end. Many was pressuring to have Robert push a MySpace account. He did not and we all know the right thing was done.
It's one of the few areas I seen him though daring in so many areas approached with caution. He basically sat by and watched everyone jump in a empty pool.
Kev
2.) Why no Youtube videos or Youtube presence?
This is THE biggest question and understandably so. I had put a freeze on many things to place on the internet especially YouTube until we knew what was going on with the music stealing issue and another problem in the business song leaks which can undermined marketing campaigns. Do not get me wrong its a great tool for marketing many things however when it comes to songs I did not permit. After my research YouTube streams are a large part of the reason many artist songs do not sell or bits into sales and hear is why.
It is simple very simple to say that if a song sounds good enough to stream on demand anytime there is not need to buy it. This is why our album when we release it will sell because we are aware of this. As for some things placed on YouTube it will be only most likely live versions of songs or b songs we will permit to float around. Lastly as far as YouTube views about any artist. The big views have campaigns that are push combined with viral.
Do you really believe that a song that has a billion views has sold a billion copies or a billion fans. No Its steaming numbers where a number of millions of fans are listening to that song multiple times again effecting that artist record sales because its on demand. I just answered ALOT of questions by mentioning that. I am a student and constantly investigates and pays attention to what is going on especially if it involves revenue.
Robert
3.) Why do you have and promote your own concerts?
You make far more money with it is being easier while being more professional from a technical production side and you have little to no unprofessional people to deal with.
Robert
4.) Why is Kalhalla the only band in the concerts?
It is about making money and not what other band you perform with. In the past there where disasters with opening bands of people really not liking them. Also the nature of the shows being under Kalhalla's own concert promotion time is money. Again business is business even though the band does love meeting and talking to their creative brothers and sisters.
Kev
5.) Why can't you or don't you want to play smaller clubs instead of big stadiums or large events?
It is about a marketing term called "impressions" but putting it more plain and simple terms exposure. The more people see you the more famous you are the more you get paid plain and simple. The smaller vip like formats we do like the movie theatres the ticket cost are higher since there are less seats of course.
Robert
6.) Why is it taking so long for the full album to come out?
This delay started as far back as 2003 when it was originally self-titled album when the band was about to do a national tour of the Tower Record stores to support the release however the ever changing retail situation with Tower and other physical retail stores like FYE, and Sam Goody closing was a BIG factor. Now that it is stable at least "for now" that its more itunes for digital and amazon for physical in the U.S. especially it is the reason that now the full album will be out soon. The constant piracy and changes would have effected record sales since it had a big influence of the marketing of the album and even the amount of songs on the album and how much it should cost. It was not till late 2019 the album was officially to be called "Virile".
Very good question.
Robert

7.) Why do your concerts seem to attract more of a pop audiance?
Kalhalla has had mainstream media coverage through TV and played in front of large general audiences so the fan base will reflect that exposure from over the years.
Kev
8.) Why aren’t there more pics updates or updated pics in recent times?
This site is being updated and were going over fun and innovative concepts to see if we can add different kind of pics which include pass personal pics and even pics of the band when they were kids. Something entertaining so all can feel as connected as possible. Plus the band is having a system set up in place were the photos that are taken by Kalhalla Global worker or a auto set up due to no one being able to hold material hostage only to be cut of a circle and not pass on to a wide business network. It is the reason why you don’t see many pics from the stadium tour in 08.
A photographer that was given the business was giving all access pass to shoot pics of the band in the stadiums nationally including San Antonio, St Louis and others but at the last minute literally minutes before the concert tried to drive the charges for her services higher attempting to catch Robert under duress and pressure due to also managing only to have him get on the staff radio and instruct Live Nation to ban her from entering the building and lost the business. The pics you see were from cam shots taken from a very close friend who was part of the team that day.
Kev
9.) Why don't I see more pics or links of Kalhalla Models?
The quick answer is very simple they are no Kalhalla Models because we did not move forward on it. We answer this due to a number of questions from some seeing pass weblinks and pass web pages from this site that were not updated and deleted about the concept from almost over 2 years ago of the promo team models modeled after the concept of the Dallas Cowgirls the answer is NO. We have not been working on it was not interested in being in the middle of "some" of the models and their boyfriends insecurities and distrust to these nice young ladies (which was unfair to them) combined with some personal dislike among "some" of the models themselves displaying childish behavior we chose not to move forward on it almost a year and a half ago. Lastly there were other far more important concepts of the Kalhalla brand that needed to remain focused on and if the concept is re-introduced it will be separated in two versions, one family friendly concept based on sexy tasty fully clothed skin tight wear female super hero like and the same ladies shown in swimsuit posters and dvd for the males IF it is reintroduced we have a name for it already with 4 professional talents already chosen inplace if it’s launched.
Thanks for your questions
Kev
10.) Do the guys in the band has children?
The answer is Mike has a child and is married, Robert has no children never been married and Carlos has a child and never been married.
Kev
11.) Why is Kalhalla only doing so few U.S. Shows for the tour?
Music though very important is only one part of our lives as a whole. Like the general of a army for moral to remain high I made a decision years ago due to studying the demise of great music artist from burn out to ensure the healthy longevity of the band that we should do only so few U.S. dates and over time every one comes to the cities we are playing. I made the choice mainly to ensure the guys enjoy their families "especially" if they ever got married and need fair times with their wives. That was the main reason why.
Everything has a balance family with your personal relationships are important as well because it is a part of life as well. This was with band mates in mind to keep moral high and thier health in tact. You work really hard then you enjoy your winnings with that special someone. Very good question.
Robert
12.) Why no push for Twitter account?
The Kalhalla like the Facebook Wall and Twitter Kalhalla prefers to have the fans profiles of who they are what they do and where not shown and for them to keep their privacy. One big reason is a Facebook account especially misleads people into believing they can contact a celeb and they will get a email back on the fly. This creates a situation were a fan can feel unappreciated so we prefer to keep the message across that once act gets to a certain level its nearly impossible to respond to all or most personal emails or comments. Best chances for one on one are at the concerts and the VIP level tickets.
Lastly Kalhalla are leaders not followers so while everyone else Tweets and post on Walls it does not mean we have to. Again revered back to the mention about MySpace on question number one.
Kev
13.) Are the guys in the band single, in a relationship or ever been married?
Carlos is single never been married, Robert is single never been married while Mike is married.
Kev
14.) Is Robert Mixed?
Robert is African American with both of his parents being black and his parents parents being black. The question is raised often due to his hair mainly and facial features from what has been asked in emails and letters over the years from what I seen. I can tell you some of his relatives has the same hair and look from pictures I seen of his family. Robert has often said in certain parts of Africa such as Somalia, Ethiopia and Egypt other blacks look very similar to Robert and he looks similar to them.
He is not as unique looking on that side of the world as the only difference is he is much larger in size of course than the average person over there. The look normally comes from being direct descendants from Egypt as you can see in the drawings on the walls of how their faces and eyes looked in that region even at that time.
Kev
15.) Is Roberts hair real or wearing a wig?
This one blows both our minds every time. The answer is NO. His hair is real and really looks like that.
Kev
15.) Why no Wiki profile page or LinkedIn Account?
Robert has been asked about the Wiki page a number of times and preferred permits it closer to end of this year with any information that is need. As for the linked in I did asked years ago and his answer was he is not interested in people knowing his direct contacts and to publish their business information out there without their permission or at all. In the beginning he was a bit open to the idea to not look so mysterious from a business public relations stand point to new networks however when it (LinkedIn) became more universal and used for more of the general public instead of a only business professional networking profile he really was not interested in it.
Kev
2.) What Makes Kalhalla Unique.
What makes Kalhalla unique in the music world are a number of factors.
1. Kalhalla is not owned, ran by nor beholden in any way shape or form to any major record company or major concert promoters such as Live Nation or AEG Live. Despite the band's label being distributed by a major the band is not subjected to any political red tape in release schedules or contracts that could come under dispute while having the highest profit margin in sales. Kalhalla is also not at the mercy of radio airplay due to marketing experience to be able to reach the public without a radio station or airplay. The band is the one true outlaws of the recording and live entertainment business that is that popular.
2. The band has its own concert promotion division Kalhalla Global Entertainment/Sony Music Entertainment which also allows the band control of the gate earnings allowing the highest profit margin and lowest concert ticket price to concert goers. It is displayed again that Kalhalla is not under the mercy of a major concert promoter not buying the talent to spite or black balling of any kind.
3. Kalhalla 2 security divisions Robert from years of security experience created is the Kalhalla Police which includes undercover security in and around the crowd and Kalhalla Delta. Kalhalla Delta is a sophisticated trained mini militia designed to prevent kidnapping attempts and terror threats to meet the new era of possible threats at large public events. Kalhalla Delta ensures the safety of concert goers and protects the band from danger. KD also serves as a reinforcement around the KP (Kalhalla Police) fire power wise who's main responsibly is event security and serves as intel to protect the band while preventing a dangerous surrounding and investigating minor cyber theft attempts which influenced the creation of the KP division since it is considered a economic attack attempt on the bands revenue and taken seriously.
Arrest will be made on where it counts which is the servers who provide the avenue for possible content to be avail to steal not music fans. Robert on occasion has arrest authority at live events in certain crimes depending on jurisdiction of the crime and in the upcoming tour will have advance arrest powers for live events and also in cyber crime especially to issue a immediate federal warrant and arrest those who are committing the crime.
4. Kalhalla as a entertainment group has total ownership over the database of 17,240,000 (2016) solid total in 55 cites worldwide from the total true number of 18,400,000. Robert is the sole owner of the database which is worth tens of millions of dollars which he will never sell knowing the worth of the database to produce sales of Kalhalla's upcoming products for sale. The boomer demographic group in this database in particular is very valuable especially to possible advertisers and sponsors. All other major groups fan base database are normally owned by either concert promoters Live Nation or AEG Live and record companies.
This list is from a sales term called "hot leads" that came from permission granted opt in sign ups and not a outbound marketing program who are really interested in Kalhalla's messages or sales solicitations. A decision was made many years ago to focus heavily on growing and owning the database mainly for concert promotion to ensure never having to rely on anyone else promoting Kalhalla concerts.
5. Kalhalla's audience as a metal band is very unique. All metal bands classic audience target in America is mostly working class males with normally one demographic. Even though Kalhalla has a masculine image visibly and in the sound of the music over the years still developed a larger female fan base percentage than most rock or metal acts very similarly close to the glam rock area audience ratio. Kalhalla's large female base was credited from the bands likeable appeal to the gender while having a anti chauvinistic approach in a very male camaraderie surrounding was more welcoming to women to the concert promotions than other bands.
Kalhalla has won over a post educated audience from university grads to white collar professionals over the years as well. This came from Kalhalla stance in early 2000's of being open to play to audiences outside of the norm for rock acts. When concerts are thrown the audiences profile is clearly visibly different from this diverse audience.
6. A top Kalhalla aim has always been to be different than other bands. Despite metal music having a bad public image overall Kalhalla has heavily benefited from a policy set by Robert of having lyrically clean content to be different from what he calls often being "Old School" like a Ed Sullivan format and keeping it clean to welcome all ages. One heavy influence came from Robert wanting to be able to let his elders in his family hear the bands music respectfully. Another reason was to not dishonor Robert's family now Carlos and Mike's family as well.
The band in turn is allowed to play countries that heavily restricted acts especially Asia and The Middle East due to their lyrics or what is visibly offensive. All of these are to show respect even though the members of the band as adults like anyone else swears from time to time to other adults in discussions and have adult humor while exercising it at the right time and place and not in the music and on stage. The last sentence is mentioned to not come off as fake goody two shoes giving off a fake image but stating that the band is just respectful and original while understanding the power of music's influence and does not want to negatively influence young people.
7. "Kalhalla Cares" links posted on the main menu of this website is another that makes Kalhalla unique in the fact there is extended appreciation of being a fan and in turn the band does care of the fans well being and offers help and guidance by posting useful information with phone numbers and websites to be available in the event of a personal crisis such as drug, alcohol or domestic abuse.
8. Kalhalla global charities support is where Kalhalla uses to true power of music the help others and make the world a better place.
3.) Interesting Facts About Kalhalla.
Here are a number of interesting facts about the members of Kalhalla.
1. Mike was drummer for the band "Suffocation" for many years and was one of its founder. Mike has always been a well respected drummer in the extreme metal music community for many years.
2. In the past Robert personally guarded and was held responsible directly or part of the inner circle team to protect the personal safety of gangster rappers Ice Cube, Trae The Truth, hip hop artist Method Man and Red Man, r&b singer Mario and pop singer Boy George. Robert has also directly protected well known dangerous gang sets and mafia members at clubs or "gangster parties" protecting directly the various Crip sets and even the real Mexican Mafia members resulting in Robert being directly physically involved in over a estimate of over 150 violent confrontations between 1996 to 2005 from being a club security personel over several years which included shootings and attacked with weapons that surprisingly only resulted with being stabbed on his right forearm after multiple times having to remove drawn guns and knives by hand from patrons. That deep stab wound left a scare that is still visible today in some close pro shots on stadium screens or front view playing guitar without his custom armband.
3. Robert has over the years on and off promoted his own streets initiative called "Legit Conversion" providing a pathway of ideas directly to troubled individuals who lead a life of crime to legit forms of business in legal commerce as a alternative to a life of crime.
4. As Robert has a interest in public office in the future he is not the only relative who has or had the ambition and reached to power. Robert's cousin on his Mothers side of the family through his grandfather is the cousin of former Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness who was Prime Minister just a few years ago.
5. Another relative cousin not as close on the family tree is Army Iraq War 2 female POW Shoshanna Johnson. Robert was informed by his Mom that his grand mom was called by other family that the Pentagon had called and was told of the capture before breaking on the news. The Spanish channel Univision had a interview with Robert's mother that same year.
6. Robert has a real life tie to serial killer Ted Bundy through King County Sheriffs Detective Ralph Grundin who was part of the King County leg of the investigations for the Ted Bundy case was Robert's 10th grade teacher. Both have spoke about the case regularly and Grundin showed Robert about Sheriff investigative techniques and the press clippings of the case during those years.
7. Some have noticed over the years Robert is not called by his name from people close to him. All his family does not call him Robert and was given the nickname by his uncle his Dad's younger brother all family members call him because of his hair he will not mention however Robert has been given nicknames over the years such as Skyfire his break dancing name handle after the Transformer Jetfire for sunglasses used while break dancing. Hawk another name given for sunglasses similar to the style used by a TV character called "Hawk" from the a 80's TV series "Spencer For Hire". Sexy Black given from a dancer as a bar back while working at a strip club in Austin to have many other dancers call him by that name.
The name Chief came from Sam and others in the music business. Many know the nickname that was given to him as a live entertainer in the business by fans years ago already of course. Other funny nicknames given in the pass on a personal basis was Rob-Loc, Ice Pike, The Sheriff, Warrior and The Franchise.

Motto: "There Is No Haven"
Kalhalla Police motto is referring to internet pirates, organized crime figures pirating, hackers, street pirates, internet trolls, business espionage attempts, extorters and all or any forms of threats will be identified and where physical where about known.
It is not surprising for a individual to be identified and informed there is knowledge of their physical where about, activity, associates, friends and family members. There is proof of this practice that was displayed as examples earlier 2016 identifying two trolls with one a musician in a band out of Philadelphia immediately identified as slanderer out of personal frustration hearing from his girlfriend mentioning seeing Kalhalla's commercials airing in a Manhattan AMC Empire 25 who was almost sued for slander in attempts to undermine the bands statue while making a site vulnerable to a lawsuit for infringements with a moderator violating a state law in the process, however due to full investigation finding this individual contemplated suicide in his past and the profile presence of slander far lowered the decision was made not to bankrupt him and not derail their touring plans out of concern of him harming himself from the financial pressure the actions would have brought.
Another troll in the Quincy/Boston area was given information of knowledge of his activity and informed his high school to inform his parents directly of his behavior due to him being age 15 too young to contact directly from a moral standpoint that his where about was known with parents workplace information and even his fathers personal preferences in food and music with frightening accuracy to teach the young internet troll it is best kind to others on the internet.
The point has been made very clear directly to trolls "you will be identified" from what is comically called "The Plungers" in "The Plungers Unit".

11.) Kalhalla Short Bio.
Kalhalla Global Entertainment/Sony Music Entertainment
Kalhalla is a American power pop band based out of Los Angeles, CA.
The 13 year old child prodigies Robert Benson (lead guitarist & vocalist) and Sam Bass (co originated drummer) co-founded the band in July of 1989.
The 90's saw the band perform it's first concert in summer of 1991 before the band returned to the stage in 99 after a Benson military family transfer with his Mom and Dad in Seattle-Tacoma, Washington from 91-96.
The 2000's where brought in with Benson who, in 2001, was directly mentioned on a community comment section of the then popular eastern European website called "Dark Dimension". In the article, the comment "long hail you and your band" was proclaimed by a racist Russian skinhead on the internet after hearing "Armageddon" in Russia. He was surprised to learn that Benson was black despite his admitted dislike of non whites. This was a personal and professional barrier breakthrough for Benson, who often told band mates and try outs to "know your neighbors". The Ed Sullivan Variety Show began booking the band in front of different audiences. Benson, who often claims to be spiritually connected to the inspirational powers of music, wanted to meet and see "Middle America's" neighbors who were outside of Kalhalla's music audience niche. This was an opportunity for Kalhalla to stress test first hand how the mostly politically conservative Middle America crowd would react to a band lead by " a politically far leftist, black, city raised Yankee". This lead to the gain of valuable live performance experience and Kalhalla received loud crowd cheers and never got booed. This opened the door to allow real listeners, and not think tanks, to decide if they approved of Kalhalla's music and performance.
The 2000's also made Kalhalla conscientious about music piracy and security at live concerts. Benson used the military strategy of "strategic retreat" in 2002. This strategy delayed the release of records until there was an effective plan to properly neutralize piracy while remaining a live concert brand working on building its fan base. The bands international profile took a sharp rise in 2005 from promotion of song samples and stadium performances at motor sports events.
2010's was placed on focus by finally being able to record the full album and establishing proper measures to protect the band from economic loses due to piracy and from being insulated (do you mean isolated from ) with it's high disposable income fan base. Benson formed the label Kalhalla Global Entertainment, distributed by Sony Music Entertainment, where Benson acts as president, chief executive officer and promoter of live events.
Kalhalla Global Entertainment offices are based in Beverly Hills, California with base operations in Rio de Janerio, Tokyo Japan and a new location in Shanghai China which will begin operations in the summer of 2020.
Kalhalla has over 25 million fan's worldwide of mostly skewed sophisticated post grad educated professionals 25 years of age mixed with ultra affluent females. The large, completely artist owned inbound database was built in the late 90's. The database building began in Tokyo and Hong Hong and is owned by Benson who built the fanbase as part of Kalhalla with a LTV (Life Time Value) of nearly 1.1 billion dollars.
Kalhalla is billed worldwide as "The Most Powerful Band In The World" from its complete ownership of content, business achievements, global economic power, advanced modern concert security and Benson's advance executive power. The band is also additionally branded as "The Modern Day Maestro's" with their artistic combination of high energy music theater and dance music combining visual themes with laser and color changer light shows in Kalhalla's live concerts.
During the process of preparations to start recording for the "Virile" album, Hollywood had called Benson to make a small appearance in the movie "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" which starred Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Josh Brolin, Dennis Haysburt and Powers Booth. Benson was used for multiple scenes including his biggest scene with actor Mickey Rourke "Marv". Mickey Rourke and Benson where next to each other for over 2 hours in a bar scene where the character did his trademark responses to opposers. Surprisingly the scene and other scenes including Benson where not used upon the movie release. Benson was only shown in one scene. Benson was called again to appear in the background in the movie "Chef" starring Robert Downey Jr. directed by director of "Iron Man" Jon Favreau. The 2014 movie appearances completed a prediction held for many years by some in the entertainment business that Benson's unique image would be used in major films. This has officially launched Benson's career as a big screen movie actor despite already being an entertainment business gate keeper discreetly under the radar. After years of displaying extreme caution in August 2014, Benson achieved the largest success as a executive in dealing with a major label distributor without losing publishing, major rights or the band owned by another company. As executive, Benson contacted Sony at the top. Using the band's database of almost 20 million fans (at the time), Benson used this as leverage that resulted in a signed distribution contract with Kalhalla earning 80% of record sales and 100% from CD sales in Russia, France, Germany and Japan. Kalhalla's "Virile" release and all future releases will be exclusively distributed by the Sony brand Sony Music Entertainment on Kalhalla Global Entertainment worldwide.
In the month of October 2014, Benson reached out to Mike Smith (former drummer of Suffocation). With Mike's help, Benson could completely concentrate on enforcing his long standing reputation with business contacts and not be concerned with the unprofessional antics that occur backstage. Smith, from Bronx New York, is a well respected veteran musician in the extreme metal community as well as with drummers from various styles of music. Smith's level of professionalism to live concert performance standards are high and in line with Bernier and Benson's standards.
On February 5th 2016, a movie marketing campaign began in popular movie theaters AMC Empire 25, AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13, Regal Cinemas Union Square 14, UA Sheepshead Bay in New York City, AMC Century City 15, AMC Santa Monica 7, Rave Cinemas Baldwin Hills 15, and AMC Universal City Walk 19 IMAX Los Angeles. The campaign was seen by an estimated 3 million people between both cities and it raised awareness of the Kalhalla single "A Thin Line Between Hell & Hate". The single was released on Friday December 7th 2018 airing in all theaters and screens from open to close and before movie releases such as "How To Be Single", "Deadpool" and "London Has Fallen". The majority response to the advertising resulted in confirmed adulation from young women ages 16 to 34, raising Kalhalla's fan base and brand awareness in New York City and Los Angeles.
A planned special live concert event of Kalhalla performing in Shanghai is planned to air on CBS Sunday January 5th, 2020 in the United States and Wednesday December 26th at primetime on MTV Africa & MTV India. A four episode series called "Kalhalla" showing the band on 4 world tour stops in London, Paris, Stockholm & Moscow will also air on CBS & CW (CBS O&O). The series will air in the United States, MTV Africa & MTV India in December of 2020 in 6 major cities including New York and Los Angeles. The series will broadcast on the network The CW mid 2020.
With a current fanbase of now over 25 million fans and long delays in releasing a full album due to the major changes in the music business, Carlos Bernier (bass), "The Grand Wonder of The World" Robert Benson (lead guitar/vocals) and Mike Smith (former drummer of Suffocation) set to embark on a tour to major cities around the world. Billed as "The Most Powerful Band In The World" being the only band on the bill at most stops except Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. Kalhalla will be co promoted with co promoters from the hosting countries to abide by their local laws through special arrangements made for Kalhalla's live concert events to support the first single from the "Virile" album "A Thin Line Between Hell & Hate" that was released on December 7th 2018. The 6 track full Kalhalla album "Virile" manufactured and distributed by Sony released on the bands own record label Kalhalla Global Entertainment is now due to be released on November 1st 2019. The album contains inspirational songs promoting self-empowerment and world peace while promoting a positive image. Tracks on the release includes "Zero Tolerance", "Armageddon", "World Peace Epic", "A Thin Line Between Hell & Hate" and more. The tour to promote the "Virile" release will visit The United States with The Virile World Tour concert series produced by Kalhalla Global Entertainment.
The band will tour four major U.S. cities: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle in 2020 to 2021 and tour in the countries of the United States, England, Russia, Brazil, Egypt, India, Japan and China.

Kalhalla is a American pop band based out of Los Angeles, CA.
In July 1989 the self taught 13 year old lead guitarist, Robert Benson and 14 year old drummer Sam Bass who were next door neighbors that had met who happen to of had the same interest of being in a band.
Bass was raised on rock, metal, hip hop and pop was discovered playing drums along to popular songs that played through a loud overheard by his neighbor Benson, a former break dancer and then martial arts hobbyist who happen to also be a self-taught musician that played lead guitar that had latin percussions and grew up spending his summers with family in Brooklyn, NY while frequenting the surroundings of Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx in the shadow of the uprising of hip hop.
Bass with his Father (Antique Collector) was inspired by all kinds of music from pop, classing rock to metal groups.
Benson with his Mom and Dad (United States Army) who served his earlier years as Military Police while doing night security work to make ends meet before moving up in rank in later years as Benson's music influence grew in r&b, blues, salsa, latin jazz, pop before being exposed to heavy metal music as a child.
Benson's biggest music influence came while watching the Michael Jackson video "Beat It" that inspired Benson to want to play music and to be a huge future star.
Benson was inspired by Jackson's principals of setting high goals and having high standards of being driven to be the best at
entertaining as possible while bringing joy through entertainment which became a principal Benson would carry on for years to come.
In the beginning band stages Benson stood in as singer as there were tryouts for vocalist. After few days it was deicide it was best Benson stayed the singer even though he only wanting to be lead guitar player only. Benson was also open to being the vocalist to avoid history by learning from studying the histrory of band instability brought on by front men separating from acts at some point in a bands career.
The line up became a three piece with Sam Bass on Drum's, Robert Benson on lead Guitar with vocal s and "Sheldon" on Bass who was a former kindergarten classmate of Benson's from FT. Sam Houston Elementary School not far from Sheldon's big brothers Cole High School who's classmate was future NBA basketball star Shaquille O Neil.
That same month of July the band wrote their first song, the chaotic war song, "Armageddon" influenced by the most extreme styles of metal music at the time with a goal of being only fast and aggressive.
At that time the band developed a music style very similar to extreme underground music while in later years originate a vocal style to sound clearer with a deeper, darker and far more aggressive style than all extreme music genre vocal styles while using drum beats per minute patterns similar to fast drum beat patterns that would be used in later years by EDM (Electronic Dance Music) that is faster than all underground extreme music styles.
A episode occurred at Sam's parents home where the band regularly rehearsed in temperatures above 100-120 degrees a glass window cracked from the vibrations of the loud rehearsing quickly reestablished that the band from classmates comments at the junior to senior high school the the heaviest and most extreme band at the time out of all neighborhoods in the northeast San Antonio area where it was not uncommon for bands to hear other bands rehearsing outdoor from the other subdivisions.
After the end of summer the new school year begun with Benson going into 7th grade now joining Bass who was a 8th grader at Kirby Junior High School which was widely known to many at the time for gangs and battle royal fights.
The band started to pick up a immediate small following due to the band already having the marketing advantage of branding the bands name then known as "Metal Death" on their jean jackets with artwork done with using black and red Vis-à-Vis markers that Bass artistically drew by hand that was placed on the back of their blue jean jackets branding the name of the band while learning the their young ages the value of name branding.
Buzz of the band continued to grow through word of mouth of after school jams school rehearsals of the band which were mini versions of concerts held inside and outside Bass parents home.
Bass and Benson in particular did not fit the stereotype of the personally traits associated with rock or metal fans at the school and being recognized and well liked extroverts socially liked by different social groups in high school.
Musically the band started to see the power of racial unity from the multiple racial groups at the school through their personal connections. Bass was embraced by African Americans in the school due to his talent for playing hip hop beats and knowledge of black culture with his love for classic r&b and classic rock while The European Americans embraced Benson's talent and already becoming locally one of the most visually recognizable African American metal musicians in the city. Even those known to harbored racial prejudice against African Americans embraced Benson for his talent as a metal musician.
On a social circle level Bass was liked by most social groups while Benson attracted incrowds due to Benson's sense of dress style picked up from New York.
The members were never picked on due to both being personally liked by many while Benson's street level credibility from school and neighborhoods fights served as a deterrent from bullies or gangs in school from the knowledge of his reputation inherited from elementary school at FT.Sam of being a formidable street fighter particularly taking on two or more at the same time on a few occasions and known from being use to being around a high level of violence being raised in Brooklyn during his summers.
Despite being growing up beside hip hop culture Benson never was known to dress in hip hop trends with exception to his prior breakdancing years had his own "New Jack Hitman" and "Grease Lighting" look he had from childhood.
The Mexican Americans & Mexican gangs embraced Benson due to knowing how to speak Spanish and respected the graffiti artist for his interest in their artwork drawings and culture which was much credited from his already previous trips to Mexico.
Benson at age 15 landed his first job in sales selling door to door in the city and surrounding area the "San Antonio Light" now known as the "San Antonio Express" newspaper to buy better guitar equipment at the time while learning important sales principals from early that would be used later for the bands business. The band would regularly record live videos practicing their visual strengths. The band finally played their first of 2 concerts in 1991 at house parties in San Antonio.
The band was offered to play a bar on FM 78 to open upcoming national touring extreme metal bands. It was found out the that the band was thought to be good, however was too young to legally play the bar.
The new school year had Bass in 9th grade now attending Judson High School. The entire year brought filming of performance videos the band would make to watch for practice the visual strengths for live concerts that later the band regrettably destroyed the VHS tapes on purpose that they knew they could do better.
In 1991 focus was placed on the marketing of the band in need of the band name to sound larger than life with awareness that the current name would sound dated and limiting artistically with Benson believing the name Metal Death would sound too corny and stereotypical of a metal band and would in the future limit what the band could write about the name was changed the same year to Kalhalla.
The band kept writing music while a military transfer to Seattle, Washington was given to the Benson family. The band continued to exist by writing material until Benson returned to Texas as the young guitarist found himself in the capital of a new exploding music trend called "Grunge" at the time in Seattle. Kalhalla expanded its songwriting to include vocal melody with real singing with meaningful lyrics for a focused musical direction and to display the true range of Kalhalla's musical talent within the bands genre and artistry. Kalhalla developed a straight forward style with a heavy focus on sensible lyrics combined with the intensity of extreme metal. The band developed a double side of being focused lyrically and the other musically extreme. He went on to attend Mann High School in Tacoma, Washington for 2 months before attending Kilo Junior High in Federal Way Washington for the grade remainder. The next year Benson attended Federal Way High School before attending the same school as former alumni Blues singer Robert Cray Lakes High School in Lakewood, Washington for his 10th grade year then finishing out high school by graduating class of 1995. During the summer 1995 another key important influence came to Benson of being inspired while listening to 45's of James Brown in his parents home. Benson was inspired by the visual of seeing James Brown wearing his hat as the "Godfather Of Soul" on imprint of 45's singles with Brown's record labels promoted entrepreneurship and independence to have control of putting out their own record. After graduating and doing work as a caregiver for the state of Washington for a year Benson tried his luck with a close friend by answering a ad of a childhood passion he had for airplanes. He answered a job ad for aircraft refuelers and was hired by Aircraft Service International at Sea-Tac International Airport to take care of Alaska Airlines then before being given larger responsibility after passing the highest level security airport and access after a extensive FBI background check and given clearance to be assigned to the international division handling the larger 747 aircrafts by himself responsible to handle Asiana Airlines. At this same time Bass had finished his education after a brief departure for personal reasons from school a year earlier while doing landscaper work and pallet collections for cash as a trade Bass would do for several years to come.
In 1996 Benson returned to Texas after to his Mother and Father who was promoted to Sergeant Major moved to El Paso's FT. Bliss for his father to attend The Sergeant Major Academy while there received help of from another Texas metal band musician band Eddie Garcia drummer of "Pissing Razors" assisted in drum tracks for Sam Bass temporary absence due to small injury and recorded a demo in El Paso before regrouping with Sam Bass. While living in El Paso Benson spent every other weekend visiting Ciudad Juarez, Mexico for leisure time with friends and to learn more of the culture while recording and later working before offered a job for a company called Oasis Aviation to be assigned at El Paso International Airport then requested to be at Biggs Field Air force base which he later participated in the war training exercise for United States Air force Air Mobility Command "Roving Sands" in 1997 then assigned to handle the Medevac crew for night emergencies and was responsible care of for mostly C-5 Galaxy and C-141 aircraft by on the airbase by himself. In 1997 with industry knowledge gained in Seattle, Los Angeles and trips to New York City. Raising buzz independently became the proper career choice. In the mid to late 90's important contacts and marketing knowledge were obtained with business contacts in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, Belgium, The United States and Japan. Kalhalla had obtained the ability to release music in over 40 countries market by market while exposing high energy music to a cross section of listeners who were not fans of metal music. While in El Paso a moving company was loading the families belongings to move to San Antonio. Benson's Mom told him of one of the workers who she said looked like the rapper Coolio named Robert Henderson being a musician himself who was starting his own indie label and Benson met to be aquatinted. In the talk Henderson mentioned was his scene was up-tempo dance hip hop "booty" tracks and told Benson of the CD manufacture Disc Makers for independent artist. Benson had heard a little about the company over the years. Henderson was told of his desire of the James Brown inspired route of going totally independent and raising the profit margin once any release came out. Benson had nearly a over extreme desire to avoid placing the band and himself at the mercy of any label, management or accountant especially after witnessing a string of major pop and R&B acts in the 90's filing for bankruptcy due to a clauses he avoided in the type of deals called "Production Deals" in the business. Benson's ultimate goal was to have what is called in the business a straight distribution deal which offered the largest and highest profit margin despite considered the most financially dangerous if a labels marketing missed the mark too many often. Benson was attracted to the boldness of the idea and having less people involved to lower the chances of things going wrong with a already developing track record of the more directly involved Benson was influence the chances of guaranteed success was higher.
In summer 1997 while on a personal 5 month summer to fall vacation temporality residing in New York Benson had a consultant shop Kalhalla's demo to major labels for the first time. RCA Records A&R had praised Kalhalla's material overall especially the song writing as strong however did not have business relationships with the marketing pipelines of the metal genre.
In 1997 Benson moved back to San Antonio since his Mom and Dad who was promoted to Command Sergeant Major the highest military rank for a NCO. Benson focused on another airport job in the meantime. There was also a focus and getting a house since his credit was good. At the end of 97 Benson got a brief job washing DC-10 airplanes in the Dee Howard hanger at San Antonio International Airport and wanted to become a lineman refueler doing corporate jets at the executive terminal.
Benson returned to San Antonio as a resident after the vacation residency and received another airport job as a line tech in the executive terminal refueling given the job refueling private executive jets Gulfstream, with added responsibility due to his jumbo jet, military aircraft and military war mayhem stress training experience to handle the DHL 727 at San Antonio International Airport frequently working with coworkers outdoor in 120-130 degree heat that came from the airport tarmac while now starting to practice with Bass band material while searching for new bass player due to Shelton choosing not to play music for the future. The band had a new line up with Jeff Covey on Bass and Robert Gerry on Rhythm guitar and started practicing for months.
At the young age a 22 years old Benson bought his first home for the band to record and practice with savings from his job and prior years of Benson establishing A credit lines with banks while learning real-estate investing knowledge to build personal wealth with positive cash flow in which Benson, despite working a hourly wage in the blue collar job was quietly worth from assets a quarter of a million dollars enabling Benson to be approved for credit lines of $50,000 through a few credit lines to buy band equipment and bought a PA system, recording equipment, drums and added guitars including a guitar for Gerry. The year also brought the first power move Benson had ever tried to execute. Before leaving Seattle he was given a business brochure of a company called CD Warehouse where the stores ran on a buying used cd and flip. Benson found this business appealing for profit and guaranteed store placement for a Kalhalla future release. Benson had called corporate months prior and expressed interest in the San Antonio territory and CD Warehouse offered a store for over $200,000. Benson agreed to do the franchise in San Antonio and mentioned a specific location and wanted to make sure if he would be the only owner or a friend close friend he contacted to share profits he was seeing if he would have to own alone despite would cover the entire buy. In San Antonio there was a store already called CD Warehouse in the territory so the stores in San Antonio where called CD Exchange. To Benson's surprise when he called back and offered to get a credit line though was seriously considering a outright cash deal, CD Warehouse claimed that location was already taken. Benson offered another location on 281 San Pedro and was told that only one person was given the entire territory of San Antonio despite only owning one store at that time. Some close to Benson and himself expressed concern if that was even true considering the fact he only owned one store and found it hard to believe the corporation would give a store owner and entire city jurisdiction considering Benson was even told the owner did not buy into or pre paid for other locations. Business contacts and financial advisors advised Benson to write it off of as a obvious and blatant business version of "real estate redlining". This issue appropriately would be the prelude to what would become a series of discrimination acts that would shadow Benson in multiple areas for many years to come.
In the meantime Gerry and Covey where getting frustrated of Benson not booking the band anywhere due to his believe they where not "perfect enough" to play live at that time and was not ready. Benson believed heavily in being professional and being at their best in public. Benson believed the band should be more scripted and routine to be professional and was frustrated by the changing of drum fills that Benson believed Bass picked up a bad habit from years of his absence Bass practicing and jamming with musicians with lacks standards from a style called "open jamming" which to Benson was too off and not professional. There became a rift on what kind of venues and shows to perform.
Covey and Gerry where for bookings at bars and clubs which Benson was trying to avoid in his belief it was a waste of business time. Benson believed in playing larger more family friendly events and preferred to be booked at high schools and colleges to build the following and believed the bars and clubs though useful to experience believed it festered a negative lifestyle and was not good business and already knew from a business standpoint most bar goers did not have the disposable income for the band to generate the income goals set at the time. Gerry especially dismissed the choice and preferred bars. Benson dismissed it as a attempt to get free drinks and though a popular socialite himself believed the surroundings of the kind of individual's would ultimately be negative to band mates, himself and not proactive.
Benson bought a band membership for NACA (National Association for Campus Activity) for the band to be listed as talent for university and college concert bookings. Surprising to many Benson also had direct phone contact to Air Force and Army generals and coronals in the Pentagon in Washington DC to offer the band to perform for the troops oversees. Offers for bookings to colleges and universities were on the table however the offers where for the next semester and no bookings were available in the city. Benson himself had openly admitted had run out of reasonable excuses and viewed any other delays would be too selfish to his fellow band mates.
Though verbally mentioned the band was not ready and pointed to the fact it was not good business exercised the flexibility to bend to his band mates wishes to appear in public for them with only restriction of not playing the same city multiple times in a short amount of time since it would be unprofessional and start touring Texas and other neighboring states to build the bands name regionally. Through the band played shows years prior and club shows where offered Kalhalla never performed a club to that date. Benson used the opportunity to display to fellow band members the bar and club scene would be a waste of the bands time and did not allow the band technical flexibility to be completely professional to his standards respecting the paying customers to throw the best appearance possible. The next year with a new guitar player George Avitia Kalhalla finally made very 3 small low profile arrangements to build confidence then Benson booked the band in other cites of Austin and Dallas.
In 1999 the band had a accidental surprise when Benson found out that a large number of hits to the bands website where coming from eastern Europe especially Russia. It was found that a state radio dj's started to play "Armageddon" which reached millions of listeners though mp3s found from the website Dark Dimension building the bands status without the bands knowledge. A surprising personal and professional moment came when a Russian skinhead and Benson conversed through the internet through questions by finding out where he discovered the bands work the skinhead found out Benson was African American and praised the bands talent and openly complimented Benson after knowing his ethnic heritage. It was deemed a professional and personal breakthrough to Benson.
In the late 90's and early 2000's Sam Bass working hard labor jobs as Robert Benson who also worked hard labor jobs while being a bouncer before entering in aviation over the years responsible for multi million dollar commercial, corporate and military aircraft in Seattle, El Paso, San Antonio and Austin Airports. Benson left the blue collar trades due to a rash of incidents at companies he worked for while at San Antonio International Airport of blatant multiple discrimination practices, unsafe practices by some co workers and constant attempts of racial division between African Americans and Mexican Americans promoted by older company managers to enter the white collar sales field using his intellect instead of physical gifts selling home mortgage refinancing quarterback to go on becoming a top seller breaking the company record from 3 sales to 7 to 8 per hour. Benson's sales where so high he was placed under investigation by the company for a week for possible empty sales only to be praised for his honest short, straight to the point reasons to rid of the high interest rates. Benson sold hundreds of millions of dollars in the transactions and learned important sales principals that he would apply to the bands business practices for fans as customer service.
In 2000 a live stage performance experience band break through experience occurred when Avitia and Covey expressed concern that the band would be successful being accepted by the coffee house college aged folk, eclectic and alternative music crowd at a club called Club Dada in Dallas, TX while Bass and Benson confidently reassured their band mates as long as they remembered the changes the band would be ok. The band started the set to a at first luke warm crowd while attracting many supportive on lookers through the glass window outside the club. As the set progressed the outside attendance swelled as the inside and outside crowd cheered louder and stood to their feet while others moved in closer to the stage while on lookers passing by the club seeing the band play through the window whistled and cheered the band on with others peeking in pumping their first in approval of the band. At the end of the set the Club Dada goers gave Kalhalla a strong applause. The band left Dallas to San Antonio more confident while confirming Benson's thoughts of always playing in front of that crowd more often and avoid others entirely even though there was a misunderstanding of the format of the club booking.
By 2001 Avitia and Covey though on positive terms left the band to pursuer other personal priorities though Avitia chose to still play music on free time. After leaving the blue collar field Benson entered the white collar sales field using his intellect instead of physical gifts selling home mortgage refinancing quarterback to go on becoming a top seller breaking the company record from 3 sales to 7 to 8 per hour. Benson's sales where so high he was placed under company investigation for a week for possible empty sales only to be praised for his honest short, straight to the point reasons to ride of the high interest rates.
Benson sold hundreds of millions of dollars in the transactions and learned important sales principals that he would apply to the bands business practices for fans as customer service. With Benson being highly skeptical of tryouts came up with the idea of trying musicians out and only making them "official" members only after a performing a large number of concerts first. Bass and Benson did not care for the new musicians culture of musicians playing in multiple bands at the same time especially Benson. Benson dismissed most of the practice of a way to avoiding accountability and from a professional standpoint viewed it as unprofessional and too "kiddy".
By 2002 the band found it self in awkward position when Bass others warned Benson to use caution on the tryouts where untrustworthily. Benson admitted he didn't care if he even trusted them privately. Benson admitted he didn't not trust personally most of the tryouts due to displays of showing distrust saw it as long as they where professional live it didn't matter due to the fact the band rarely if ever hung out on a friendship level which the mysterious nature of Benson continued. Benson did not dislike them personally but knew they could not be trusted in certain instances. Multiple attempts of division between Benson and others members where attempted multiple times throughout the years. To the surprise of all including Bass there where a few moments of personal times Benson did hang out and the musicians found it surprisingly pleasant and Benson did as well. All sides agreed it should be done more often of course with some limits. 2002 brought more touring this time the south. Kalhalla had by this time already played Miami, FL and was booked the prior year by University of Miami Coral Gables to appear however the Kalhalla concert and another concert was canceled due to upcoming hurricane. The band was still sent a check and knew it was a mistake and honorably called and sent the check back out of principle and honesty. The band played "The Tough Man Challenge" as the only band at a country music hall called "Farwest Rodeo" (now called Cowboys Dancehall) to a country music crowd before going to play the largest nightclub in Panama City, FL Club La Vela in later 2002 and had a strong reception with a mosh pit and women groupies gravitating to the bands now new look and sex appeal of wearing clothes that showed the band members physics on stage broadening their masculine image. The band reception was so positive the band had to sign more autographs the next day by being recognized by the crowd while getting breakfast at a Wafflehouse before the long nonstop drive back to Texas in which Benson developed a considered dangerous habit that family members and friends would worry of Benson cross country drives without sleeping 2 to sometimes 3 days straight. Benson became known to many over the years as a true "road dog" ,"road warrior" driver.
2002 also saw a number of key band trademarks and gimmicks that included new band image as the band inherited a notice able female following from garnering a new sex appeal bearing tighter fitting clothes and the band members athletic in shape physics. That same year Bass and Benson started to use phycology before entering the stage to amp themselves up before a concert to where friends or other fellow musicians noticed what was called "The Walk" where Bass and Benson on the way to the stage especially in large tunnel walks in larger arenas in stadiums years later would on the way to the stage be in a very similar demeanor liken to combat fighters with aggressive demeanor on their faces in a mental state and competitive spirit preparing to bringing the fury and aggression to the stage. The preparation was also found to be very useful from a performance standpoint overall as a presentation. That same year also saw more frequently what was done on occasion became a visual trademark was Benson's "World Power Salute" used as the band appeared on stage and throughout the performance saluting the crowd by extending his left arm upward with a open hand as a gesture used by military commanders, dictators, presidents, prime ministers and religious leaders. The year also brought for the first time a nic name to one of the band members. Russian Kalhalla fans nic named Robert "The Grand Wonder of The World" not for his musical talent but his imposing stage presence performing in concert pics and performance video witnessed by millions of Russian metal and rock music fans from the website Dark Dimension.com which was a popular Russian metal and rock music community website that was visited by millions of Russian and Eastern Europe former Soviet Union residence. The nic name came from a result of tens of thousands of comment postings from numerous fans calling Benson that from seeing multiple postings from other fans. Due to the popularity of the website the origin of the original first fan or fans who created and syndicated Benson's nic name was impossible to track down and unfortunately unknown.
By 2003 a first a major business plan came after the fall of Tower Records came as a symbol to many in the music business of the fall of future music retail store closures combined with music piracy presented a career threat in the area of selling records. Benson also viewed the commercial radio station ownership and live concert business narrow national level promoters of something far too intrusive though had respectful thoughts of the managers and workers of these companies. Benson had no desire to be beholden or bogged down by this network and came up with what was dubbed "Doctrine Of Control". The doctrine is a belief Kalhalla has to enter into these business forming their own media to maximize profits especially in the concert business by keeping total control over the gate to ensure long term success and stability which would be displayed years later. The main goal and objective was for Kalhalla not its members to not be owned by any company other then themselves. 2003 would also see the band doing more college concerts and then toured the entire south performing in every major city in the south that included New Orleans, Birmingham, Panama City Beach, Tampa, Miami, FT. Lauderdale, Athens, Atlanta, Memphis, Little Rock with all the southern cities except Jackson, Mississippi, Orlando, Florida and Jacksonville, Florida. Kalhalla played the entire state of Florida multiple times more so than Texas before playing more national concerts. 2003 also brought a Kalhalla as the first metal band to play San Antonio College to surprised lunch time spectators.
2005 brought coverage on major TV networks more Florida concerts only now major TV media started to cover Kalhalla more especially with successful 2005 coverage seen by over 9 million in the U.S. with Kalhalla and Paris Hilton in the U.S. entertainment news brief and millions more internationally covering Kalhalla. International coverage in multiple countries branded the bands name internationally further. Kalhalla was also bestowed earning the nickname by the alternative local media "King's Of The Strip" due to their well-known name with original concert concepts being the first metal band playing full fledge concerts with lasers, lights and smoke in alternate venues such as upscale clubs, colleges and active movie theatres. That same year in a the San Antonio Current articles a San Antonio weekly newspaper. 2005 also brought one of the most important creations the band has ever created. Out of frustration from too much outside opinions and interference from a event the same year Kalhalla officially created it's own concert promotions division few years ahead of schedule out of the "Doctrine Of Control" plan as Kalhalla"s own concert promotions arm. Kalhalla concert promotions which was prior known as Benson Productions which for prior years on certain events was billed under that promotion name for the bands concerts separate from dance club, teen nights and hip hop promotions that Benson had promoted for past years to earn extra cash. Kalhalla's concert promotions division was later named Kalhalla Global Entertainment.
By the end of 2006 a growing division in PR perceptions and etiquette between Bass, Benson and other stand ins. Many saw Bass and Benson as well mannered and welcoming as the opposite of the others as loud, immature, arrogant and obnoxious. This became very noticeable and fell under Benson's radar as a manager to the point action had to be taken. In the business Benson is often seen well dressed while being well spoken in his deep voice being seen as "high brow" behaving classy as others were acting opposite. Benson did noticed the behavior was to also draw negative attention to themselves while trying to imitate rock stars of the past at the expense of the band image, reputation and its founders and started getting rid of certain tryouts while placing closer monitoring of lifestyles, personal and professional beliefs to make better judgments on the talent.
Over time media would also compliment Benson's hard work ethic and dedication to the craft as one of the hardest working in the business 2006 saw the year Kalhalla entered the advertising revenue business selling ads through impression exchanges and sponsorship revenue. Kalhalla surprisingly entered temporally into the radio business by starting their own cell phone radio station where a number would be called without using data usage however the concept was ahead of it's time due to the technology not being available to collect local level user demographics to sell to local level advertisers so Benson decided to re launch in the future once the technology is avail to sell at local level. Using Benson's business contacts in the movie business and now Live Nations through a direct arrangement between Live Nation and Live Nation to open for the popular motorsports attractions in multiple cities for a stadium tour.
The band originally where to start the show in 2007 at Houston Reliant Stadium instead the through Live Nation pushing it to 2008 Kalhalla started the appearance series at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX that also included a appearance in the bands original base San Antonio at the Alamodome that place Kalhalla to perform in front of the smallest crowd of the series of 49,314 motorsports fans then continued to make appearances at other large events performing to a total of over 500,000 spectators. The result of the tour came from a long standing professional policy implemented by Benson of being family friendly which is unheard of for rock and metal bands. Benson often states Kalhalla is "Old School" in a Ed Sullivan Show like format keeping music lyrical content and live performances as clean and tasteful and non offensive as possible to be as welcoming as possible to all ages and world customs as possible while maintain the artistry of the band. Many in the business has been very surprised by this position considering the style of music. Benson of ten stats the main reason for his policy is artist are blessed with talent and riches and have heavy influence over youth so in turn should be mindful of this power and not abuse the power especially to underage children who become fans or attend concerts. Strategies has shown Benson is heavily influenced on concert promotions by major family friendly Hollywood films such as Batman and Transformers. Benson was heavily reinspired by witnessing the 2007 Transformer movie trailer that brought himself in private discussions with male friends of his generation the joy of being reminded of one of their childhood joys that was generating excitement. Benson got his wish of seeing a father with his young son cheer on the band in a 2008 stop. Kalhalla's business position in this area has been rewarded by being permitted to perform in parts of the world with strict guidelines to perform off limits to many performers.
By the end of 2008 it had been established that Benson had become a real star in the entertainment business. Years of performing to large crowds, TV news brief exposure were to credit. It became common for many police officers and sheriff deputies to instantly recognize Benson from working one of the high profile events in that city. To even those in the public who that do not know his name recognized Benson with his trademark hair from somewhere.
In 2009 is was decided that Kalhalla would finally release music to the public. It was decided that the single Solitary Confinement would not be a real professionally recorded release that displayed Kalhalla's true standard, but instead a simple raw recording to be used for research and development for law enforcement purposes to see how the music would be stolen. The release was download by 805,000 in the U.S alone. The research would be used to add to the methods to further counter piracy when the time came to release the full album.
A new internal agenda was set to a new inner circle policy of Benson being more observing of personalities and lifestyles he could can completely relying on trust personally. For the first time Benson started the new policy was enacted due to fatigue of years of what he branded as personal and unprofessional resentment towards him due from jealousy or not subscribing to unstable behaviors. Years later Benson also brought a new inner policy of members with no major drug or over emotional issues completely riding the band of what Benson viewed as never a problem, but a major annoyance.
In 2011 the inevitable musician crossroads finally crossed paths. The inevitable crossroads came of seeing if Benson would make a large mistake and finally cave in and be another statistic and be on a slave contract deal which has claimed many artist in multiple genres in the business. Despite Benson having the main goal of Sony distributing the releases Benson started to shop licenses of the album release and contacted directly high level executives. There was a stipulationin the offer with guaranteed album release clause and arrangements that would not pigeonholed the band. With the new climate of the industries strict policy of 360 deals Benson mentioned a $10 million minimum advance for exclusive rights. During the middle of this process Hollywood had called Benson to make a small appearance in the movie "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" which starred Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Josh Brolin, Dennis Haysburt and Powers Booth. Benson was used for multiple scenes including his biggest scene with actor Mickey Rourke "Marv" and Benson where next to each other in a bar scene where the character did his trademark responses to opposers and surprisingly the scene and other scenes including Benson's 8 other appeared scenes where not used after all and upon the movie release was only shown in one scene. Benson was called again to appear in as one of background in the movie "Chef" starring Robert Downey, Jr directed by director of "Iron Man" Jon Favreau. The 2014 movie appearances has completed a prediction held for many years by some in the entertainment business that Benson's unique image would be used in major films one day and has officially launch Benson's career as a big screen movie actor despite already being a entertainment business gate keeper discreetly under the radar. Benson continued to be in direct contact with key executives at all three majors Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and Sony even though a direct arrangement with Sony was at the top of the list. Universal Music was also contacted from February through August in 2014 for distribution.
After years of displaying extreme caution in August 2014 Benson achieved the largest success as a executive in dealing with a major without losing publishing, major rights or the band be owned by another company. As a executive Benson contacted Sony directly and the Kalhalla "Virile" release is manufactured and distributed by Sony on Kalhalla Global Entertainment in the United States and to all other international territories.
In the month of October 2014 with the stakes and the responsibility higher than before to remain professional. Benson reached out to Mike Smith who was former drummer of Suffocation do to knowing without a shadow of doubt Smith dedication to the craft and level of seriousness would without any doubt allow Benson to be able for the first time to all the way completely concentrate and not have to be concern with any unprofessionalism. Smith from Bronx, New York is a well respected veteran musician in the extreme metal community and among other drummers from various styles of music. Smith level of professionalism to the live concert performance standards are high in which Mills and Benson believe in the same high standards.
On February 5th 2016 a major movie marketing campaign began in popular movie theaters in AMC Empire 25, AMC Loews Lincoln
